Smiling JOe said:Lucky and Jdarg, I appreciate the links, but they begin with 2 and 3 mile runs. If I ran 2 miles today, I would be out of breath and energy for the remainder of the week. I have a feeling that I need an extra 8 weeks to really do this right without injury. I am just going to take it easy and do what I can, with good rest in between. Thanks again.

lucky13 said:What about running some 5k races? You could train for those at your own pace and the races themselves would prepare you for longer runs, leading to that half marathon.
I need some inspiration, too!

Smiling JOe said:Sounds great, but I have already registered for the half marathon. I am not worried though, just trying something different. I will be lucky to bring my @ss home, much less a trophy.![]()

Good luck and just take your time!
BTW, can't believe your friend did an Ironman. I love watching the stories behind the people who do that. One guy collapsed just yards from the finish line one year--awful!
