Did Someone Mention Black Eyed Peas

We are roasting chestnuts by an open fire. Of course there are other nuts that deserve roasting, but I will content myself with chestnuts.

I sent you a message that may be helpful to you.

Fresh seafood today and tomorrow! Been eating the traditional stuff all my life and doesn't seem to work for me, so-------- tonight, raw oysters, cocktail sauce and saltines followed by an oyster casserole with hot pepper cheese and toasted bread crumbs; while tomorrow, a shrimp and crab bisque simmering on the stove for all the friends who need something to soothe their tummies from the partying of the night before. Happy New Year to all Sowalers and thanks for letting me lurk and sometimes share a thought.

oh this sounds just about perfect!!!

The blackeye peas are done and safely in the fridge. We will have to partake on Jan 2...unless someone has them at the tailgate we've been invited to. but yeah, if we were home, it would be peas, collards & cornbread.

all my favorite NY Day foods of all time. don't care about meat - give me collards and cornbread, plus BEPs!

my favorite of all time is big fat southern skillet cornbread. served piping hot with butter. omc.

franny and canuck are cooking for me today. thanks ya'll.

:clap:absolutely awesome and so timely!

We are going with Chinese fortune cookies for good luck- just had huge plates of mongolian chicken, pork with garlic sauce, lo mein, and steamed dumplings- and still in jammies.

From where? Sounds yummy.

We always do Chinese for NYE, as we did last night here in SoSoAtl. Daughter and JP went to Doc Chey's. Yum.
