Chat Holly Needs to be repaved

New posts
I've gone into "drift" mode when someone comes roaring down the road. They usually brake when the oncoming car seems to be entering their lane.

I'm astonished that anybody would purposly drift into oncoming traffic, nevermind get kicks out of doing so.

I find it more disturbing that people feel they can go 60+ mph through places like Dune Allen, Seacrest, and BMB. To each his own.

I clicked on this thread, thinking that someone had questions about Mr. Chat Holley. Dang.

There is a picture somewhere around here of CHR, then known as Powerline Road, before it was paved at all. That was the LONGEST, most ardous ride anywhere around, but much funn if you were on a school bus, bouncing through the bumps...

Neither Chat Holley nor 30A are made for high speeds; we can agree on that. But why would anyone try to take the law into his own hands and punish drivers who are speeding? That is what you're trying to do, right? Scare some sense into them? Are you trying to prove that you can get them to slow down when a posted sign would not? :idontno:

Whatver the reason is, I hope you think twice about 'drifting' into someone's lane. Just think of the results of a car veering onto the shoulder of 30A and then overcorrecting. There are too many lives at stake to be playing this little game.

I remember.... Wow, you've been around a long time. I bet you still call that Post Office strip mall on 98 Cano Square too (I do) ;-)

that's funny I do call it Cano Square! moved here full time in 79 there were only a hand full of full time residents.
It was pretty remote but wonderful...........yes I've seen alot of changes.
I met you back in the creative design days, you've known me for years :D
I'll "IM" you.........

I'm sure Chat Holley Rd. was paved in the 90's, when you were on a school bus.;-)

dump road story

It will always be Cano Square! Same as 83 being
dump road.[/

Cano forever! One time Monica and I went to the dump to drop off some bags. Remember the man with the trailer and the dachsund that hung there and accepted the trash? Well Monica and I got back in the truck to leave and I start to back the car out and I look in the rearview mirror...the dachsund is sitting in the back seat of my truck looking ready to go. I guess he was tired of that dump lol. The good ole days.
