I looked at some recipes online. Had never heard of it. I think I'll prepare it sometime.Google it. I did! Sounds yummy!
Melanie. My son-in-law hasn't had it. He was 11 when his family moved to the US. We all love brats (remember that hubby's family had their own brat recipe at their butcher in WI), except that I am the only one in our family who likes sauerkraut (I was born and raised in ATL --The Varsity in ATL only serves naked dogs, chili dogs, cheese dogs, etc. No kraut.) As an aside, hubby has been to Germany hundreds of times on business. His favorite brats are at the Hanover hauptbahnhof.a German version of haggis - sort of - peculiar to Cincinnati. I can post the recipe if anyone is interested. You make it in the crockpot first, chill it in loaves, slice it, and fry it up. Serve with eggs instead of bacon or sausage. It freezes well - most of my new batch is going into the freezer. My mother's family is ALL German, but we never had this when i was a kid. I had to learn about it from my IRISH husband. But we're even - i make him eat sauerkraut and german potato salad and sauerbraten and bratwurst, etc etc.
