Concealed weapon permits in Walton County

New posts
I believe knives are made to cut but they can be used to kill, cars are a mode if transportation but they can kill and guns are made to hunt or protect but they can kill. Can we agree that people are the problem? Lets start there agree or not. One word answer. Then we can all debate on how to solve the people problem.

If people are the problem, maybe our leaders should consider doing background checks on them. The NRA does background checks on politicians they buy, why not expand the idea to the general public?

Poppy do you know what this number is 160,474,702. That's the number of background checks that have been done since they started keeping up with them in 1998.

Great! Why is the rightwing so dead set against expansion of this simple concept? Why do they fear minority voting more than continuing to make sure our mass murderers are best equipped killers in world?

In my opinion if 160 million background checks won't end violence then 250 million will not either. Like I have said in previous post...it's the people who obtain guns illegally without background checks that hurt people most of the time. U started with a new topic with the minority voting thing...did u mean illegals voting?

I guess expanding background checks to gun shows would do nothing because no criminal would ever think to buy an untraceable weapon at one of these events. Why even have laws if people are just going to ignore them? We should just self police the way the rightwing wants corporations to self regulate.

Our Federal Executive branch of government (specifically, the Department of Homeland Security) is requisitioning 1.6 billion - billion, with a "B"- rounds of ammunition. That is enough to start a 5 year land war in Asia or a 20 year US civil war. It is actually more than 10 years worth of ammunition for all departments that do range training. Added to their order are an unspecified number of armored personnel carriers. (The kind with gun ports and 50 caliber machine gun mounts on top.) The Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General ordered 174,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition (the kind you use to kill people, not the kind you use to do target practice) for its 300 armed employees.

This is par for the course in a socialist military dictatorship; but it's unheard of in a developed democratic republic.

This makes me think:

1. the government is always ordering crap we don't need because all of our tax dollars have to get in the pockets of the politicians and CEOs and stockholders somehow.

2. Our "wars" are now with bogey men. Remember when armies lined up in a field and took turns shooting at eachj other? Swamp fox introduced guerrilla warfare to the modern world. Now the enemy is in urban settings or remote villages.

3. aliens are fixin' to land.

4. mexican gangs are invading.

5. boys like guns.

6. asian land war / us civil war??? - did you make that up or hear it on Rush?

I think I read the 20 year civil war somewhere. Don't listen to Rush.

The 5 year land war in Asia. Made that one up. But... I mean... 1.6 Billion is like a bullet for every man woman and child in China. Even if only 1% of that ammo hit a person, you are talking casualties in excess of 15 Million. So, yeah, a 5 year land war in Asia.

And, the EXECUTIVE BRANCH is ordering that much.
