Today the president* said the virus is disappearing.

Today, half of the states reported increases in cases. Three states reported the highest increase they have ever had.

Putting aside any political bias. Putting aside the presidential candidates. Simply basing your choice on the substance of their character. Who would you prefer to be the Chairman of the Coronavirus Task Force, Mike Pence or Kamala Harris?

War on Truth
The war on truth keeps going. Science denial has become a political statement. Our CDC and public health experts have been bullied, ignored and silenced.

I recall this article. As well as many others like it sounding the alarms.

"So while US medical officials have been at pains to brace Americans for the inevitability of coronavirus – a matter of when, not if – Trump and his outriders have worked hard to minimise the threat.

On Thursday, Trump repeatedly referred to the figure of “15” cases in the US, when the actual figure was 60, and promised that that number would go down rather than up: “It’s going to disappear. One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Even after being totally publicly called out on downplaying it by Bob Woodward, and after he and 34 of his staffers contracted it in a super spreader event, he said, just yesterday, that it is disappearing. And the consensus of Republicans is that the Vice President can not invoke the 25th amendment and deem him incapacitated, unless the president* says that he is incapacitated. Let that sink in.

Lockdowns do not work. Data does not lie. Science, not politics.

Lockdowns do not work is science? Maybe you could say something like lock downs only work if there is smart leadership. You have to starve these viral pandemics. Take away their ability to spread, develop vaccines and manage the symptoms. If you look at the way this virus can attach to living cells it is very determined to survive. I understand that isolation (lock downs) are very hard to implement and the economy is very important. But what is amazing to me is that pro-life supporters are so willing to sacrifice "life" for economics. That is the ultimate hypocrisy and alarming. It is very possible that a more qualified leader could have got this under control sooner which would have minimized the economic impact. Quite shocking that people don't use their common sense instead of letting politics control their conscience.
