Destruction of Eastern Lake

New posts
That's Scott "I don't make the laws I just interpret them" Brannon's district, no? Good luck.

Honestly, I don't think anything short of a Save Eastern Lake campaign vis a vis the Lake Ponchartrain campaign in New Orleans will get his attention. When every local has a bumper sticker, he might get the idea that continuing to side with developers may impact his long term political aspirations.

Where do I get this bumper sticker - I will do anything possible to see this guy - Brannon - is completely run out of town!!! I will even pay for his moving to as far away as Maine!!!

Good luck! Lot of $$$ and dirty tricks got him elected and they'll want to keep him there to get the return on their investments!

That's the furthest West I've seen the outfall - when I moved here 5+ years ago it was much further East where the pin/pointer is. It used to flow straight through where the bump is. As the great pic from SJ shows, there's a pretty big fan shaped area where it normally meanders and changes naturally.

That is an old pic - the outfall was dug right down the middle since then and turns a bit to the east as it nears the gulf. If you look at other outfalls that do not have development that close, most naturally move back and forth over very large areas. This lake has been in trouble for a long time.

Brannon is currently the one brokering "closed door" meetings w/ Worth to resolve the situation.

Scooter, if what you say about Williams being advised as he was by both DEP and CofE about these issues, it's just more business as usual with most of these current & recent commssioners, and Mr. Brannon in particular.

Property owners seem to be able to walk into the County with the most audacious requests for development, upzoning, variance and novel interpretations of the LDC, and they're actually met with a willing ear, and then a rubber stamp ... amazing.

Developers maybe...but property owners of one house or a small parcel are put through the wringer of rules and regulations and red tape.:bang:

Well, that's obviously their own fault - they need to follow the old Chicago method, but instead of voting early and often, they should donate early and often

Ready.....Fire......................Aim.

What do you want the sticker to read?

Oh, I don't know - maybe one of those signs that says "Be Nice or Leave".

I have other issues to deal with at this time in my neighborhood that are of a HIGH importance to me this very instance - I'm going to clobber the Popsickle Truck driver if he drives through my area just even ONCE more with the completely obnoxious song he plays - aggggghhh, it's even in my head as I type!!!!!!! :whack:
