The death toll in Haiti due to the onslaught of Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna, and Ike, plus Tropical Storm Fay, grew to at least 630! Here is a website that is taking online donations, I believe every little bit helps. I can't even imagine. :(

Dr. Jeff Masters recommended the Lambi Fund in his blog a day or two ago. Today, he said the fund's leaders had contacted him and told him they had several hundred new online contributions since his mention. :clap:

That's where I read about it! If everyone just donated a little something it would add up. :clap:
 
Thank you for posting this! I read the same thing on Dr. Masters' blog and I had forgotten to make a note of the site. He is a class act, as are you, for passing it along. :wave:

Anybody here ever been to Haiti? I had friends in Nashville who used to go every year--they said that it was such a sad, awful place. Very different than the Dominican Republic, which is just the other end of the island...this was 15 years ago, though...

My heart still goes out to these people. Thank you, BB...

The Red Cross needs our help too, here is their link, I'll start a thread for them too. It just that the Haitians live in such an impoverished world, one I don't think any of us in the US can imagine.
