Ever see a jogger smiling?

New posts
I began running last July for the first time and finished my first half-marathon in June, next one is in November. I frequently smile and play the "air drums" which is kind like an air guitar. I just did it this morning when I ran about 3 miles.

i spin every day and I'm most happy and have that thousand yard stare when I'm done.

Spinning is a blast if you have an excellent teacher, top notch bikes and great music (and good sound system). I've been in a "bad" spin class with bad music and bad equipment - and it was the worst kind of exercise experience ever.
I need to get back to spin asap.
I tend to go around dazed for the rest of the day, in a good kind of way.

congratulations Beachsio - I'm proud of you! Do you wear an OMB bra of some kind while running? I do think runners are nuts. The injuries and long term impact on the body are ridiculous. but, whatever makes one happy I suppose!

I understand what you're saying about running, but I am feeling the opposite. My knees used to hurt as did my lower back prior to running but now I feel a lot better. I will NEVER be a marathoner but 3-5 miles three times a week has been very good for me physically, not to mention a great stress reliever.

I could never run on a treadmill but live in a beautiful area so that's not a problem. I think spinning would be like running on a treadmill. BTW, my better half ran the half marathon too, but i think she is retired now

Sure, some people claim to enjoy exercise. But then, some people claim to have been abducted by aliens too.

Yes, I used to smile quite regularly when I was still running... it was my meditation space & where I could get 'in the zone' an hour out into a good low-speed run.

Why pick on someone else's fun or fitness regime?

spinning is just funn, if the music is right.

I love fitness walking - that works for me more than anything. very therapeutic to be outdoors and a great workout (if you do it on a regular basis and throw in some lunges, etc)...
