Favorite Phrase Your Dog Knows??

New posts
"where's the squirrel" sends her into a frenzy every time... even just "Squirrel!" like in UP, it's hilarious.

"Who wants cereal?"

-or-

"Where's your frog?"

My shetland sheepdog, Cajun, also gets excited when I say Daddy. He looks at the door leading to the garage and turns his head. But the word is Flyswatter. When he barks, which shetland sheepdogs do alot, I just say, "I'm gonna get the flyswatter," And he puts his head down and stops barking and lays down. I've never hit him with it. He's just afraid of it.:idontno:

WE shake the flyswatter at Rudyand he stops whatever he's doing. He also hates for you to point a finger at him. His favorite words are ride, cheese and ball.

ME: Hey Sophie...Who is the cutest smartest,prettiest girl in the whole wide world?
HER: Tilt of the head and wagging of nubby little ole tail.
ME: Hmmm....I think it might be Sophie Lee!
HER: Doing the happiest Dog Dance in the whole wide world.

HER self esteem is quite elevated and all is right in the world.

Our 6 lb. Maltese named Lacey Kate knows these words:

Wanna go to Starbucks?

Let's go get the dry cleaning!

Is this bath day (followed by her hiding behind the sofa)?

Where's your popsicle (her stuffed toy)?

Time to go to bed.

(We are trying to spell the words, but she seems to know "bath" either way! I love, love, love my little doggie!)

I find it hilarious when we progress beyond spelling to different phrases so the dogs don't catch on:

dinner = evening repast
treat = Pavlovian bribe (they figured out Milkbone)
walk = passegiata or promenade
bath = canine spa

All Y'all have some very strange canines~~~~~~~~~~

:lolabove: :biggrin:

Sweet Pea also knows, "Where are your shoes and socks?" Translates to, "Get the lead, time for a walk." Then, she gets wiggle butt.

Kitlit and Swafia's babies know, "go to your room"' which is under the coffee table. Or "downstairs" which means off the couch. Those 3 are the cutest granddogs EVER!!! The cat, 007 is pretty cool too.

My brother took it a step further - taught our dog commands w/ hand signals ..................... so then I took the dog to my high school Spanish class to demonstrate his knowlege of the Spanish command words we were studying! :biggrin:
