Fireworks

Not at all. You know those things they sell in the parking lot at Wal-Mart in DFS that smoke & twirl and shoot LARGE amounts of sparks? Those are legal in Florida - and I would think they would pose much more of a fire threat than the illegal fly-up-in-the-air stuff.
So are you saying that they are banning the already illegal fireworks, but the legal strobes and cones, except for the sparklers? I get it. However, it is somewhat similar to banning a slingshot if Shotguns and Rifles were illegal and are the things being shot. In the case of the ban on fireworks, it just seems like a CYA (cover your ...) thing for the County to do, but it will make no impact. Please do not be the one who ignites the highly flammable forrest, and burns down my house with my dogs inside. The fireworks scares one of them enough. He doesn't need a heart attack.

I chewed out my nephew last night. I lent him the car Saturday night and found unused fireworks in it Sunday morning. I hid them in the trunk. Last night they got them and went out on the beach and shot them off. :pissed: When he got home there were more fireworks. After I went looking for them on the beach and found the assorted chairs, tents etc, on the beach at 11PM, I was already fuming. Then he admitted to setting them off but picking up his trash. I said what about the leftover that falls into the water, onto the beach, or onto somebody's wood deck.

We have VERY DRY pinestraw in our neighborhood with wood homes on piers. I hate to be a stick in the mud but why don't people just let the pros do it.

I think that "show" next to Alys may have been the renters 2 doors down. I found remnants in the street and when they started this am, I went down and told them it was illegal and that it's very dry... yada yada. Haven't heard any since. We'll see. Sometimes education does help.

Is seaside doing their show? We sat at buds last year and watched and it was so good. I think fireworks are so dangerous. As we say at macys "leave it to the professionals" or watch our telecast on nbc at 9/8 central. Haha!

Was just talking to Tootsie about Rosemary or Seaside. She thought Rosemary was doing one too. Need to check out. Anybody know :idontno:

I just got off the phone with a friend and he said that Rosemary is having a BBQ? and other things tommorow. He said that in the post office that there is a schedule. Someone needs to check it out....

If you see someone doing the same at my place, you have permission to "educate" them! Please!

There was quite a bit of pyrotechnixxx around Inlet Beach last night (saw it from the hwy). Didn't see the dancing chicken though :floor:

No I was in my house, on Sowal, listening to the fireworks, watching for flames and drinking Cuervo!!!
