Help me escape the dreadful heat of Summer in Dallas....

New posts
Okay y'all, it is that time of year when M/M Kitty start thinking about where to go during the dog days of summer, when I just want to sit in the refrigerator! :misskitty:

We have been lucky enough to visit Maine, Newport, Jackson Hole, Canada in the past. Give me some of your ideas! I am on a See America First campaign, so no Europe, but can do more Canada (we did Jasper, Banff, etc.).

TIA!

Moosenee on the James Bay in Canada. The last three hours of the trip is by train named "The Polar Bear Express" because there are no roads there! If you go, make sure you take a day boat to fossil island which includes a Inuit breakfast prepared by the boat owners wife. ;)

Alaska, especially the Inside Passage; the coast of Oregon...a trip up the Rogue River is great fun...beach combing along the coast...very different from our beach--the storms are fantastic. Mountains of Vermont.. Glacier National Park..Australia (the seasons are reversed). Hard to beat summer in Maine, though. As you know, I love it there. Have fun wherever you go.

Juneau, Alaska is a gorgeous (and cool) summer trip. Glaciers, whale watching, salmon bakes, seals, hiking, bald eagles everywhere....

Come and see me in Cleveland. I will take you to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a trip to Perry's Monument at Put In Bay.

I know I'm spelling this very wrong since I'm spelling it by phonics and I think it's actually an Indian name but Mackinaw Island Michigan is a very popular summer stop and my folks really liked it and found the area quite beautiful. No cars on island which is pretty cool! famous for fudge which is even better!!!!!

The Greenbrier. Great spa, cooking classes, shopping, finger-bowl dinners as well as casual meals, outdoor pool and fabulous indoor pool, bowling alley, movie theatre, skeet shooting, golf, falconry, horseback riding, carriage rides, etc. And if you want to get your yearly physical, there is a clinic there that people from all over the world go. Nice, cool weather in the summer. There are so many amenities that I can't remember them all. We used to go every summer before we built a home in Seagrove.

Our daughter was asked to write an article in a magazine about it being a great vacation destination, but I can't find the article online. I do have a copy of the magazine.

Alaska. Juneau, Kodiak (my nephew is stationed there, and you would love him). We lived in Eagle River, AK. I loved it. Alaska is so beautiful in the summertime. I think you would really love it. Have funn whatever you do.
