It is official! We will be down there from Nov. 19-26th. Found a great deal on plane tickets including rental car. Couldn't pass it up.

Now I am searching for something gulf front with a great rate. Which condo complex has great views WITH a boardwalk to the beach?

Hubby loved the website for One Seagrove Place, but it seems less personal to me. The rates were outstanding however. $720 for our chosen week. And I have found other places for even less.

And are there any restaurants typically serving Thanksgiving meals on T-Day or will I have to attempt a big meal for just the two of us? SJ, can you set two extra plates? LOL Just kiddin' of course!

Two months from today! Woooo hooooo! :clap_1:

No problem, Thanksgiving unch is served at noon. I hate the idea of eating lunch at 4pm.

Hey, wait a minute! Some of us have to work around the Cowboy game. Dessert is served at halftime! :D

I had Thanksgiving in the area several years ago. We (mistakenly) went to a large hotel for the celebration. Big mistake - no warm family feeling at all! Try to find something more casual and intimate.

I thought a gallon of gumbo at SJ's WAS casual and intimate! :floor:

We will find something no doubt! Thanks!

I have worked many years on the other side of the table. If you wonder why staff is not so warm and friendly when serving you on the big holidays, it is due to the large numbers of people wanting to eat out on a day when the servers and staff would much rather be at home with friends or family, watching football and eating some home cookin's. If people did not go to these places on holidays, the businesses would not require the staff to work on those days.

I have never prepared Gumbo on Thanksgiving, although I do make a mean Andouille Stuffing with homemade Cornbread, YUM! I usually roast a turkey and make some other stuff. I also make a darn good Pumpkin Pie. Now stop it. You are making me hungry. :nono1:

Steaks on a grill for T-day sounds great to me!

SJ, do the rentals at "Grayton Place" really have a decent gulf view? Beaches of SoWal have Grayton Place 6 and And the Fish Jumped Over the Moon available for our week.
