This issue can easily be mixed with emotions. I have no problem with Mexicans. They are like all people, some good, some bad, some are hard workers some are not. This country was indeed founded on immigrants and made better for it as more people have relocated here.

I for one don't want to paint all immigrants with the same brush. Immigrants aren't the issue, it is the illegal immigrants that are the problem. Many immigrants are repsonsible citizens. They own businesses, work and pay taxes as American citizens. Some indeed gladly do jobs that many Americans won't because it is lower than minimum wage.

However if you are in this country illegally, you are circumventing the laws of our country, yet you demand rights. Follow the correct process for citizenship, you will be given the rights and protection of every American. There will be work for you as there is now and you will be paying more than sales tax. Your wages will be taxed as all Americans. Congratulations you are a citizen, please make your check payable to Halliburton. If you aren't happy with your rights at that point, rallys or peaceful marches to speak your mind are reminsescent of the 60's civil rights movement. Let your voices be heard in a legal arena.

But to demand civil rights and equal benefits from a country when you are not following the laws of that country is a contradiction that rubs me the wrong way. Worse yet, demand these rights are owed you because the U.S. actually took Mexico from you and you show me an outlook that makes me want to help you pack and move back home.

Please don't mistake my opinions as being against immigrants or Mexicans. I follow the law and ask others to do the same.

Sad but true :funn:
As long as we're on the topic, my dad is a "full-blooded" Native American, so I'm politely asking all you immigrants to leave my country.

If you can document this, your kids' can get a free college education, :clap_1: or at least this is what my brother-in-law told me. He is one-fourth, but for some reason can't get documentation.:idontno:

dbuck, it's true, but actually, we have the reverse problem from what I've found out. My dad is documented, has his "tribal card," but he belongs to a tribe who has had a weird history with the U.S. government. He's a Lumbee, and the Lumbee Indians are not federally recognized, so this excludes Lumbees from the privileges of things like free education for its tribe members. If you're interested, this link explains it:
