I can't believe people actually get in that water. It is painful! IMO, it is like immersing yourself in a bathtub full of icecubes. And that's in the August heat.
On my first trip to Maine, we were at the beach, and my friend said the water was probably colder than I was used to. No worries, the beach is the beach, right? So, I get in, and she says, "Well, how is it?" I tell her I'm fine. A little while goes by, she asks if I'm still OK, then I realize the reason I'm feeling all right is because I'm numb from the waist down and can't feel anything! :funn:

Sounds like a natural epidural!! Dam* that's cold!

The Cape is God's Country. Mostly protected as a national seashore and loaded with enviro-Nazis and Eco-purists who do an effective job of keeping stupid development at bay. Most years, I spend a week in North Truro (about 3 miles from Provincetown on the tip of the Cape) and I can honestly say it looks pretty much the same as it did when I first went there as a 5-year-old. Actually, that was one of the greatest legacies of the Kennedy administration -- declaring most of the Cape national seashore.

But, the water is ball, er, bone-chilling cold!

Thanks K-FUNN, I've never been there, it looks really wonderful :clap_1: great job on the pics!!!!!
