Unplugged, we talked a little about this yesterday, and I grouched about her likely successor--Campbell Brown. Ugh. I'd rather see Katie stay than have to watch insipid CB every day.
John R, the only thing that rivals her lipliner is her eyeliner--horrendous! She looks like either her makeup artist is 12, or Katie does her own!
Sueshore, lipliner is fine, but why people think it's not noticeable when they line outside the lip line is beyond me. Of course, I say this as one who's tried to minimize my lips over the years, so never mind.

Hmmm...I like her, but I'd think the network would think she's too old.

I applaud Katie for the move. I think she has earned a shot at more serious news, and she has the chops to do it. I never watch CBS news but would tune in to watch her, and look forward to seeing her on 60 minutes.

I'm not a huge fan of Meredith Viera, but they could do a lot worse.

That's what I've been hearing too. She's well known, the right age, strong resume, & is very family oriented.

I just read it for the first time this morning, hadn't heard it before steele mama said it, then I read it on the web. But she's older than Katie! I guess if they want a seasoned newsperson, it makes sense, but I would think they'd be trying to bring in someone younger who'd be around for a while, no?
