Key Republican Uses the Bible to Calm Fears of Global Warming.

Look guys, both God and AndrewG say global warming is a hoax. Case closed.

Here's the deal, if carbon emissions aren't bad for the environment then they shouldn't be bad for you right?

Simple scientific experiment for climate change deniers:

Pull your car into your garage or other enclosed space.
Roll down the windows.
Close the garage door.
Breath deep.
Post your results here.

I'd rather not see a world where CO2 didn't exist. It would be a dead world, just like my garage if I ran your experiment.

The car experiment will kill you from carbon MONoxide, not carbon DIoxide.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina ? An electric sportscar finished a remarkable road trip Tuesday on the Panamerican Highway, traveling from near the Arctic Circle in Alaska to the world's southernmost city without a single blast of carbon dioxide emissions.

Developed by engineers from Imperial College London, the SRZero sportscar ran on lithium iron phosphate batteries powering two electric motors with a peak output of 400 horsepower during its 16,000-mile journey.

While I am not convinced that scientists have a 100% correct answer and data on climate change and global warming, it CANNOT be denied that we are screwing with the planet on an epic scale.

No matter what you think of global warming or melting ice caps, I assume we can all agree that ruining our air, water, soil, and poisoning our own food supplies can't end well.

Yep, everytime I burn something I feel like I am God because I'm creating life. Maybe God is really a giant smokestack or a burning oil well.

I think you all are right. Global warming is real, and we need to reduce our foot print. I propose we start by undoing some of the damage we have done, particularly land we've cleared for development. So my first proposal is this - lets raze that new airport we just built and return it to it's natural habitat. Once we get that done, if it doesn't help, we can consider other measures, like a carbon tax. :sarc::D

Why is it that righties insist something that has vast scientific data to support its existence isn't real and we shouldn't believe in it?

meanwhile -

They insist that the existence of something that has no data whatsoever to support its existence is real and we should all believe in it?

Two entirely different things here Geo. On the one hand, a scientific hypothesis must be proven before it is considered theory or law. Religion on the other hand is based entirely on faith.

But I get your point, if you can 'believe' in God, it shouldn't be much of a stretch to also 'believe' in global warming and it's consequences. Just ask Al Gore. :D

Fair point in your distinction in paragraph one. I just get frustrated by the rhetoric and the inconsistency in how some from the right argue.

Stark generalizations- But it is my experience that when faced with data from a credible/verifiable source a liberal will back off a belief or assertion, retract statements and acknowledge they were mistaken.

But a conservative will just discredit the source or stubbornly ignore data instead maintaining their belief/assertion based on isolated instances, personal experience (or based on nothing but the fact that they believe something to be true- therefore it is). The best is when they cite their own common sense and then attack the common sense of others.

Faith is not a religious concept or tenant. Having faith in something doesn't make you religious.

I have faith that gravity exists and I won't fly off into space, but I don't think that a higher power spins the Earth to create gravity.
