LIfeguards

New posts
Lifeguards are a wonderful community resource, but please remember that their presence doesn't mean you can swim in unsafe conditions or take your eyes off your kids for even a second.

The time it takes to notice someone in trouble at a crowded beach (especially w/ big waves), reach the person in trouble, and the difficulty in locating someone who has gone under are REALLY not risk factors you want to be bringing into play on your vacation.

So the beach directly south of Grayton is State controlled? Never seen a single park ranger down there. Funny how the WSD thinks they control that area huh?

State owned, but under a lease by the County. Thus the WSD controls the area.

Most of the larger County accesses are either state or federally-owned (Bureau of Land Management, Department of the Interior).
