... is so frightening right now! When one of the strikes hit, I jumped so high off the sofa that I swear I almost hit the ceiling.

Hungry but not going out in this.

I have a black poodle stole around my shoulders.

Take care, SoWallers!

The thunder is impressive. Sounds like it is moving off into the gulf now.

BR - I jumped high today too! the lightening was pretty close!

the lightening show is incredible. I saw lighting streaking across the sky in both directions. haven't seen a good florida lightening show in a while.

I have never seen it this vivid here. I'm sure you have since you live here full time.

The computer at Taco Bar was down due to the storm, so they closed. I was looking forward to cheese dip, a carnita taco, and two Texas margaritas. :(

BR, come see me & Kitty. We'll get you a Texas marg.

I know. I really need to fly to Dallas and visit y'all and my sister and play in Dallas. I love Dallas -- you know I am half Texan.

Of course, this week sister is a few hundred yards away from me at the beach. :)

:wave:Any time!

well, I don't see them often because I tend to want to stay inside during those intense storms. but there have been several occasions where we were traveling in Florida during such a storm - on long roads in the middle of nowhere. The lightening just keeps going in all directions - kind of scary but such beauty.

Teresa, I hear ya. We lived at Point West Apartments on SW 34th Street (across from the UF golf course) when we were in grad school at UF. We had a western view with great sunsets that were orange and blue (convinced me that God is a Gator). The thunderstorms that came in were just as amazingly beautiful as the sunsets.

I think some of the best thunder/lightening storms we saw on the road were on the way back from the Atlantic coast to Gainesville along wide open stretches of road.

We could not very well see the storms from inside our home in Gainesville because we were surrounded by massive live oaks. Oh, I do miss those.
