Tell Mr BR Happy Birthday for us! ;-)
Thanks to all! We had a low-key celebration (just the three of us), great food cooked by our daughter, and some yummy cake and champagne, the latter of which we're sipping on.

Can't celebrate TOO much. We're performing in two church services tomorrow. I'm scared about the prelude - our string ensemble is unaccompanied on this piece, so if we goof, anyone with an ear will near it. The hymns are no problem. With the organ playing loudly and the choir and the congregation singing, we could be playing "Faith Of Our Fathers" to the tune of "Ms. New Booty," and no one would notice. :funn:

We had a wonderful time staying overnight with gotothebeachmom and dad and we were lucky enough to meet our SoWal miracle baby, Camden, and his parents!! I've hardly ever seen such an absolutely adorable child as that one and his parents are delightful, too. We had such a perfect Atlanta evening before heading back to the rainy Midwest. Thank you thank you thank you for your hospitality!
Beach Runner, I'm glad you like the Baker's Joy--I made a sandcastle cake at the beach and it saved my baking reputation big time. (And Happy Birthday to your dear husband, too.)

Kurt, we were around all the time but it seems like we were in constant motion so it's not surprising we missed you!! It was a week filled with kayaking, bicycling and beach walking--only one afternoon, if you can believe it, for spending lazing on the sand and even then we didn't get to read or swim enough. It was go go go for the Mer people. And of course I think we were pickled most evenings. My liver needs to recover from the constant tippling...

Back to the beach in October; can't wait (duh!)

I can tell you that is the truth! Wheels or kayaks- they had it ALL going on!

They were tired Mer people when they got to our house.

Merman and I were having a quiet Father's Day dinner tonight and we agreed that we were the exact opposite of most people. As in, most people go to the beach to relax and do nothing but soak up the sun and we go to the beach to wear ourselves out with activity. We're not happy unless we're moving.

One silver lining to being frenetic though. I boozed all week and didn't gain an ounce. Must have exercised it all off.

You and Merman just know how to get the most out of your vacation! ;-)
