Mer update

Merman and I were having a quiet Father's Day dinner tonight and we agreed that we were the exact opposite of most people. As in, most people go to the beach to relax and do nothing but soak up the sun and we go to the beach to wear ourselves out with activity. We're not happy unless we're moving.


One silver lining to being frenetic though. I boozed all week and didn't gain an ounce. Must have exercised it all off.

Now if that ain't JUST what I wanted to hear!!

We destroyed a chocolate-sauced sandcastle cake one night....mmmmm...but mostly we snacked and drank our meals. I think we had one "real" meal the whole week- food is not our focus, although the food we did have was wonderful. It was easier to snack and nosh- we were having too much funn to stop and spend time on real meals! We will cook more at Christmas though.

Hmmmm. OK - I saw 834 SoWallers last week but no merpeople.

Pulling kayaks out of the lake with SJ as we pulled into Grayton. Tuesday night dancing with the WaCo Ramblers. Daily on Western Lake. Biking up and down 30-A everyday. We managed to have a 2 block conversation with Merman while we were in the car and he was riding on the bike path in Seagrove! At our house tasting rum. Cleaning up after Kate made a BIG mess. Making June Grass dip (delish by the way- will post a pic soon). Busy busy busy!

my mother would love you guys. she feels like she is wasting time if she isn't constantly moving on vacation. we quit traveling with her because she was wearing us out ! when we are in sowal, we are just lucky to get dressed. i can be busy at home.....

Make it a three some. I run, run, run here. On vacation, I like to sit, sit and sit some more. Actually, I look alot like the picture of the little peapod that SJ posted. It's just something about that beach air that puts me to .

i think it is the relaxation and the sound of the ocean that puts me right to sleep - i get some of my best napping done at the beach !
