Darlene is my middle name, not my nickname
And here is why we call him Smokin' Joe.

That is not true and you know it, girl! I simply tooted the horn and waved, and that scared the bageezers out of you as you were crossing Bloody 98 on your bicycle, almost sending you into that car, which was fortunately, waiting in the turn lane. ;-)Smiling JOe said:That is not true and you know it, girl! I know I know. Merman said to me after, "Do you have a death wish or something?"

on SJ!!! He's a gull magnet!!!Was his name Charlie Wright?Smiling JOe said:Oh gosh, mermaid, you are going to hate me even more. This morning I stopped on the 331 bridge to help a guy change his bicycle tire. He had no clue. Unfortunately, his CO2 cartridges didn't work well, and we gave him a lift to my house to pump up his tire and send him on his way. He is a lawyer from Mississippi.

You are thoughtful. Mr. JR stopped the other day in our town to give a homeless man a ride to the next bus stop. He'd just bought a portable tv from a garage sale in our neighborhood and was trying to balance it on his bike, etc. My husband wanted to help. Said the man probably hadn't bathed in awhile. The man was very grateful & thanked him over and over. Mr. JR tried to give him a $20 but he wouldn't accept it. Most people wouldn't have given him a 2nd look. We are very fortunate to be able to help others. (But sometimes it is risky!!)Smiling JOe said:Oh gosh, mermaid, you are going to hate me even more.
