New Upcoming Communities

My family is relocating to the area in the fall. Seem the 30-A/SoWal area is really getting crowded. I guess the question is, if you want to live on the Gulf Coast, somewhere in that generally vicinity, are there any new developing areas for full-time residents. Not sure we want to be in the throngs of tourists 6 months out of the year.

Anyone leave SoWal to nearby areas?

Everywhere near here is crowded. Some will say Port St. Joe area even though it's not very close to here. You might check out Panacea.

Freeport and points north are an excellent suggestion.

The reason most people are attracted to the area are the white sand beaches. That will restrict you from Cape San Blas to the Miss gulf coast. The Emerald Coast from Panama City to Pensacola is more like it. So your best bet is to go inland a bit.

I'm a big fan of the communities on the north side of Choctawhatchee Bay along FL 20. Easyto get to the beach & fun by going over the Mid Bay or 331 Bridge, but generally not overrun by tourists except for Saturday afternoons when the condos change over.

The Big Bend area is a beautiful place to visit, but could end up feeling very isolated once you live there for a while.

After living in PCB for 10 years this area is like a remote village in the Alps. If this is your definition of crowded you may have to way out in the woods to find something to your liking.

:welcome:

Does anyone in the family need to find work to live?

Point Washington! Off the beaten path...mostly locals live here full time and it's a breeze to get to the beach, shopping, etc... Not to mention Bay School nearby. Did I mention it is absolutely gorgeous here????
