Newspapers on the ropes

New posts
I've seen the program 100s of times. You could tell he was gettin' edgy when the whole loofah falafel thing broke. What's with the talking points? Are his viewers so retarded that they have to have this dolt spell things out while saying them simultaneously??? WTF is this romper for arrested development adults?

olby is more informative, right? :floor:

got one word for ya, "ratings"

Can you stop bringing politics into every conversation? I'm simply asking you to provide a source for your claim. I'm not saying you are wrong I just can't find anything to verify it. As usual when you are asked to provide documentation you bring out the same old broken record of excuses. It's apparent you have a habit of talking out of your ass and when called on it you can't back up your statements so you start finger pointing.

i only bring politics in it because i know you will.

this isnt something youll find writtings on. do you think msnbc is going to report on this? or any other liberal outlet? the answer is noway. i would never know if it wasnt for people like oreilly and talk radio. and when its exposed its easy to read for ones self.

this isnt new to anyone. the nyt specifically is notorious for misinformation dating as far back as newspapers. back in the day they would have little bias and lots of info. these days its simply a political machine when it comes to politics and current events. other than that its actually a good publication.

please understand i dont have the time to research for you. i read during certain times of the day and thats for my information. but, there are somethings you simply wont find anything on because our crappy media doesnt find it newsworthy or it goes against their aggenda too.

That's not at all what I said. I said O'reilly has to spell things out in text while slowly shouting and allowing his viewers to read his lips in order to gain some semblance of comprehension. Olby's viewers don't need that sort of assisted learning, but apparently you do.

 This has to be the funniest and  most stupid thing you have ever posted.:funn:You are stating you have a fact that  no one has written about but you read about it and:floor:know it's true because you heard it from O'Reilly and talk radio.:rolling: Oh goodness, I have tears in my eyes. You don't have time to research your so called fact but you know you read about it but I won't be able to find it through my research unless I'm "exposed" to it as you were.:lol::lol: You are one of a kind. Excuse me, I have to go before I soil myself.:lol::lol:

By the way kkddbb I am still waiting for that link to a copy of the original education speech Obama was going to give, you know before his socialist plans for indoctrinating our children were discovered. You said you read it and it was awful, remember? Well, if it had been anywhere online, surely SOMEBODY would have done a screen shot. And yes I did look for it. Still waiting. I know, I know, you have a business to run ... I am quite sure that business has NEVER involved setting foot inside a newsroom or getting to know actual reporters and talking to them about how they do their jobs.

Politics might be in the top five reasons why large newspapers are failing, but it is definitely near the bottom and in no way the main reason. Not even close!

We don't need the large newspapers, we need actual journalism, hence the decline. The cost is too high to employ true journalists. This is why the readership of smaller papers has increased because they are actually breaking stories and since it is local, take more responsibility for the accuracy of the story. Hopefully, that won't change with hyperlocal blogs because, on a local level, there is something more animatedly personal about ink and paper. On a national level, I think we'll see papers dissipate and new media bloggers take their place.
can a small town journalist hop a plane and fly to malaysia? nyt, feel the love!

Who needs the delayed hyperbole of the NYT's view (or any other old school source) when we can read the blogs a hundred Malaysian bloggers (who don't have to fly anywhere to be in the thick of what's going on), plus commentary and wider analysis through thousands of other real-time bloggers all over the world? Face it, dead tree publications like the NYT are, dead.

The one place you won't find a lot of data flowing yet on the internet is local news. That will change in time. SoWal is proof of that.

case and point: Where could you first read about the Indonesian earth quake? Where could you see your first local footage? I guarantee it wasn't on CNN or the front page of the NYT.

They better figure something out before Carlos Slim gives Sulzberger a $250MM Columbian necktie.
