No snow~~~~~

New posts
Sis is supposed to send me pics from Dallas. She says it's beautiful.

That being said, so sorry that you have no power, DD. That stinks.

It's supposed to start snowing here at 6 AM. Daughter has a MWF 8:30 class with a prof who doesn't give any excused absences. Thankfully that prof cancelled class, so I advised her to leave tonight for her residence in Midtown Atlanta so that she won't get trapped here and can be with fianc? for Valentine's Day weekend.

The Mers and we had planned to get together tomorrow, but after checking the weather report, there are snow advisories for Auburn, Montgomery, Troy, and even a possibility of snow in SoWal.:idontno: Hope that the warnings are just hype and that we can have funn with the Mers this weekend!

EDIT: I was 24, a professor at the University of South Carolina, and it was March spring break. We had reservations for our vacay in Myrtle Beach. There was a big snowstorm. We were determined to get to the beach and were lucky enough to make it there safely. However, it was too cold to go to the beach or pool or sunbathe. On the day before we had to be back at work, it got sunny and warm. We decided to max out that day. We both got so sunburned that it hurt to put on clothes. We both had to take a sick day on Monday.

Still no power. :bang:
Mr. DD made it home just as I was chasing down the power truck to tell him where the pucking problem is. He looked, he left, he never came back. Pucker.
Mr. DD bought wet firewood. Took us about an hour to get the fire going. It went out about 2am. It was still snowing around midnight.
Y'all...I have never seen this much snow here. Unfreakinbelievable.
I'm at work now. Don't know how long I'll stay or where I'll spend tonight. I don't have much faith in those ONCOR mutherpuckers.

No Snow funn day for you DD.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a snowflake in SoWal today. Stay warm!

I know. It sucks we can't enjoy it because of the no power/work thing. Boo hoo--poor me.

OMG! Having no power in this weather stinks. Hope you have a gas water heater. We have an electric one, so when Opal rolled through and we had no power for a week, we had to rent a room at a motel just to avoid taking a shower in cold water. Take care, DD.

Weather Channel says there's two inches of snow on the roads in Alabama that we travel on to get to the beach. We're bummed and grumpy that we can't get there. We have been looking forward to this trip for weeks. And we really wanted to be with the Mers this weekend. :(:(

It is still snowing here although nothing with any real accumilation. We finnaly had a plow come down the street since last Saturday. We have spent the days digging, pushing, and towing cars up the street. Wednesday I had to pull a UPS truck out of a drift with my truck. Winter is just wonderful.(sarcastic) Come on warm weather and sun!!

First of all, hello furry one!!! Where the hell have you been?

We have not seen one flake....it is all around us, North, South, East and West....but none here.

DD, hope you get your power back on soon. I know how that is for sure.

BR, sorry you can't go to SoWal....know you are very disappointed.

Below from Weather.com.....wow.

Snow accumulates across South
M. Ressler, Lead Meteorologist, The Weather Channel

After dropping record amounts of snow (just over a foot) in the Dallas Metroplex Thursday a vigorous storm is spreading a nasty taste of winter eastward along the I-20 corridor into early Saturday.

Already from Shreveport to the Mississippi-Alabama line, snowfall has been in the 3-to-8-inch range.

Heading eastward from south-central Alabama, through the Savannah River Valley, to southeast North Carolina, three to six inches of snow will be common before all is said and done. Snowfall could reach 2 to 4 inches as far north as the Atlanta metro and the rain could end as a few inches of snow in Mobile.

The snow will be wet and heavy, bringing down some trees and power lines and causing power outages. Snow-covered roads and bridges are leading to quite a few accidents because drivers rarely deal with snow.
Rain may even end as snow into the Florida Panhandle.

The storm will reach a position just off the South Carolina coast by late tonight. Once it reaches this point it is expected to intensify which will spread snow up the South Carolina coast bringing accumulating snows to places like Charleston and Myrtle Beach before pulling out to sea Saturday morning.

For the latest information on the snows across the South stay tuned to The Weather Channel or log on to weather.com.
