Have you ever eaten Cheetos immediately prior to shopping in this method?

... she does not have to be trendy or live up to someone elses' status symbol!!!! It is like that everywhere, if you choose for it to be...it doesn't have to be though. It is how one chooses to live their life. You can follow the crowd, you can try and keep up with the jones' or you can choose not too. It is your choice!

I can totally relate to that. I don't conform, therefore I am definitely an outsider. I do, however, like nice shoes and handbags, and occasionally a fur, along with my jeans, black turtleneck, and cowboy boots. Believe me, keeping up with the Jones' is the antithesis of who I am.

Dunno why I scare Sueshore. Yes, I've had a home invasion, so I'm always on guard with a gun because I'm alone SO much. Everyone knows this, so maybe that's it. But then cats scare me - every time my family has gotten a cat, there has been a tragedy (brother killed by drunk driver, father dying of massive heart attack, etc.). I'm a dog person, faithful and loyal to the bitter end.

Guess I'm just not in the club that rules this message board.

I'll never forget when I was a young bride (many years ago ;-) ) and the same thing happened to me. The man behind the counter fairly sneered at me and my wedding ring. I was kind of humiliated about it and swore that I'd never shop there and I never have. Too bad for them--they could have had some substantial business over the years! They could definitely have used a dose of the Cheetos treatment.

I guess you are just misunderstood.:idontno:
Not sure if anyone "rules" the board. Kurt does, as he should.
Miss Kitty doesn't own a cat. So there goes that theory. We are all pretty much "dog" folks. So that theory doesn't stand up. We all love our families. I must be missing the point. :idontno:

I guess everyone on this board have had tragedies in their lives. I know I have my share. But in the end, we are all just people doing the best we can. Some days are good, some not so. But we all share the love of a beautiful place we all hold near, and dear and special. A place that makes us happy to be there and sad when it's time to leave. If you live there, then you are really lucky. If you don't, you can dream about when you can.

In the end BR we are all blessed people. If we are lucky enough to own a place. Or to return year after year for the special times when you can just shut down and be, as a family, a couple,or just yourself. In the grand scheme of things, that's what really counts.

Yes, we are blessed for having the privilege to experience the beauty of the Florida Panhandle.

But why is there such an attack-mode mentality on this board? I mean, if someone makes a spelling or grammatical error or says something that the "in-crowd" disagrees with, they get butchered. Do I agree with every post on this board? Hell, no, but I don't think I slam people if they have a different point of view. If inadvertently I have, I apologize for that.

This board is getting rather cliquish.

In the words of someone famous for it. I'm outta here!

Okay, now sowal.com is with me at the mall! Mr. Kitty and I went to check out the newly remodeled Northpark Mall here tonight. So, I am just walking in the new stores and looking and touching and then I stop and look down at my hands to make sure I didn't have Cheeto dust all over them!!!!! I haven't eaten Cheetos in months!!!

Sometimes I think the board gets cliquish too. But that's just the way things are sometimes. When I think that or notice it, I just log off for awhile.
But, what I really want to say, if we are each careful of others' feelings and didn't flaunt our success or wealth, maybe it would be more acceptable. I am constantly pointing this out to my son weekly it seems, to be very aware of others' feelings. NEVER, and I mean NEVER talk, discuss or brag about money or his own good fortune. It just isn't the right thing to do. No matter how proud he is of his accomplishments or how hard he has worked to achieve his possessions, he must never brag. Because there is always someone who dosen't have these things, and it hurts and excludes them from "the club." I tell him that his own personal achievement is enough. It's pretty fundamental. It's something I have to remind myself... to stop and think about it.
