I guess you are just misunderstood.:idontno:
Not sure if anyone "rules" the board. Kurt does, as he should.
Miss Kitty doesn't own a cat. So there goes that theory. We are all pretty much "dog" folks. So that theory doesn't stand up. We all love our families. I must be missing the point. :idontno:

I guess everyone on this board have had tragedies in their lives. I know I have my share. But in the end, we are all just people doing the best we can. Some days are good, some not so. But we all share the love of a beautiful place we all hold near, and dear and special. A place that makes us happy to be there and sad when it's time to leave. If you live there, then you are really lucky. If you don't, you can dream about when you can.

In the end BR we are all blessed people. If we are lucky enough to own a place. Or to return year after year for the special times when you can just shut down and be, as a family, a couple,or just yourself. In the grand scheme of things, that's what really counts.

I think we can hang out!! Your the best GTTBM!!!!

Sometimes I think the board gets cliquish too. But that's just the way things are sometimes. When I think that or notice it, I just log off for awhile.
But, what I really want to say, if we are each careful of others' feelings and didn't flaunt our success or wealth, maybe it would be more acceptable. I am constantly pointing this out to my son weekly it seems, to be very aware of others' feelings. NEVER, and I mean NEVER talk, discuss or brag about money or his own good fortune. It just isn't the right thing to do. No matter how proud he is of his accomplishments or how hard he has worked to achieve his possessions, he must never brag. Because there is always someone who dosen't have these things, and it hurts and excludes them from "the club." I tell him that his own personal achievement is enough. It's pretty fundamental. It's something I have to remind myself... to stop and think about it.

I tell my son he better start working his a$$ off so he can go to med school, and make enough money to support his ol' Ma, and really make her happy and set her up in a cute little cottage at the beach!!! :floor: :idontno:

One thing I do like about this board (not that I have anything to compare it to though!), is that every person is important, and what they have to say fits into the SoWal.com package that is this board.

What else can you sit down and do for 10 minutes that makes you smile, laugh, grit your teeth, learn something, cry, get mad, dream, love, plan, procrastinate, tangentize.....all in the same sitting!

That's what I'm saying. BR, I may pick on you a bit, but I still like having you around. We definitely don't shop at the same stores, and your taste differs greatly from mine, but who is to say that your way is more important than mine or vice versa? When I think of SoWal, your name comes to mind as quickly as anyone else.

very well put in my humble opinion.

Yes, we are blessed for having the privilege to experience the beauty of the Florida Panhandle.

But why is there such an attack-mode mentality on this board? I mean, if someone makes a spelling or grammatical error or says something that the "in-crowd" disagrees with, they get butchered. Do I agree with every post on this board? Hell, no, but I don't think I slam people if they have a different point of view. If inadvertently I have, I apologize for that.

This board is getting rather cliquish.

it is the same everywhere as far as being cliquish. we have the same situation at work, there's the cool group who is standing around taking and chitchatting (notice i didn't say working) and then there is the rest of us, who are picking up the slack. and i am the lowest of the low - i work 3rd shift, where i am told i do nothing all night long. such is life.

BR, you are a REAL character. I can definitely see you in SJ's cartoon that he is going to make someday, the picture (in my mind) of you running down the beach in your fur coat just cracks me up. :floor: Sometimes I wondering if you are just pulling our leg though. You are a good sport. Have funn, tis the season!

I understand what JR is saying. The irony is that in an earlier post what I so poorly communicated is that I am disgusted with someone wearing St. John from head to toe in order to look important, not that I did that or approved of that even if I could afford to do it with two mortgages. LOL.

Thanks, y'all, for all of the kind words. I mean it.

Peace.

Love,
BR

Yep...in fact, I read that post right after I got home from a Memorial Service and had taken off my St. John knit! Didn't look too important, just sad. Hope you don't puke BR!
