One dog, Two Dogs, Three Dogs?

Pepper goes into a trance and chews hers completely in about the time it takes us to eat a special meal that I've prepared.

The breeder uses them to calm her dogs down at AKC shows, thus the name "Doggie Dope."
Wow. Well, mine didn't want any part of it! Ha!

I gave my 2 dogs Greenies for Christmas. They BOTH looked at them, sniffed them maybe once and they laid in the living room for 2 weeks (the greenies)! I finally gave them away. Are they supposed to eat them, or just chew on them, or what?

You are lucky. They cost a fortune. My dogs love them, but they are reserved for very special treats. Their regular chews are the Nylabones. I deprive them of anything rawhide, pigs ears, or real bones- all horrible for dogs. But boy, would they love this stuff!

we learned the hard way about pigs ears - explosive diarrhea !

i think they chew on them and they get the tartar and plaque off the teeth. dory won't use them either. she only likes rawhide treats, and the fancy icing dog treats we get from this place in destin (the doggy bag)
Our breeder won't allow us to give Pepper rawhide. Apparently rawhide can cause intestinal blockage. If a pup in our breeder's litter gets sick or dies in an untimely manner, then prospective buyers question the genetics of future pups. So in our contract with the breeder, we agreed to conditions such as this, as well as reporting to the breeder any vet visit that is not just for routine vaccinations (and then only using Dr. Dodds' vaccination protocol). Thank God she didn't insist on the BARF diet, as some breeders do. I'd barf if I had to prepare BARF (acronym for Bones And Raw Food) everyday.

All of that might be excessive, but we ended up with a sweet, loving, well-tempered, gorgeous, and fun pup.

we've not had a problem so far with rawhide. she also likes kleenexes, toilet paper and dryer sheets. they come out the same way they go in.

Maybe it's because your dog is not the pet of a child of the 60's, as we are. LOL.

BTW never get the hooves - they smell like s#it! Our breeder approves of Greenies, Paddywacks, Baa-Baa-Q's , and Old Mother Hubbard biscuits.

The only time my 2 get rawhide is I am sitting right there to take them awat so they can't "eat" any of the chew. I also buy them 3x's their size so it takes them forever to get to that point! Otherwise it's Nylabones all the way!!
