As of today, I am in the "big leagues". My baby, Will, is 13 today. I can't believe I have a teenager, since I refuse to let go of a part of being one myself.

I have been taking notes on every post regarding teenage children and stories about your adult children too, since those days aren't far off :(

He just looked at me and said, "Mom- only 3 more years and I'll be driving!"

I need to steady myself.

We'll all

for you

Mine just turned 15 last month. It's amazing how "text book" it all is. He can be just as sweet as he was at 2 and then he can be pretty snarly. It is truly the hardest job on earth! But it's worth it! Happy Birthday to Will!! (And good luck to jdarg!)

Yes, our 16 year old called last night and said he was driving up today from his Mom's again today which is 2 hours away! The good part is he got a ticket on the way home last time so he won't get 1 mile an hour over 55 this time :floor: For the record, we don't agree with this driving himself at the age of 16 but rather than cause strife we just pray extra!

The years go so fast and you are right about driving, talk about anxiety attacks. My son will be graduating from high school in May and I am already feeling the empty nest syndrome. :( My advice is PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!

Don't worry...there is a little syndrome that attacks all graduating seniors. It happens generally at the end of the spring semester, gets full blown in the summer and by the time they leave to go to college you will be on your knees...giving thanks! This syndrome turns normally mild-mannered students into freakin' lunatics. It is caused by nerves and anxiety and is reversible. It's all in God's plan to make the leaving of your little bird from the nest... tolerable!!! Good Luck and God Bless!
