Pay it forward

New posts
a lot of times elderly people go thru the emergency room at work, and they send them to pharmacy to get their prescriptions filled, but the people either have no money with them, or the er docs write for something too expensive for them. i have been known to pay for their medications (a lot) because to see an elderly person choosing between food and medicine breaks my heart.

Audie ,that is so nice  everyone on this board seems to have big hearts
(and in LL's case....a large noggin) hee hee, I had to say it

My faith in humanity is restored. Thanks and blessings to all of you!

We try to do everything we can, espcially during the holiday season but my favorite happened last spring. We were at the bar at Spicy Noodle waiting on a carryout order and spotted a group of teenagers in prom attire having dinner. My wife inquired about them to the bartender and learned that they were from the Ft Rucker, Alabama area. They had pooled their money and rented a limo to take to the beach for dinner. When we left, we picked up their tab and tried to get out without them knowing but a waitress spilled the beans. They met us at the door to thank us and one of the guys put his hand up in a "hi five" position toward me and said "You da man". True story.

THAT is cool! Everyone remembers their prom and now you will be remembered as well. Wanna bet at least some of those teenagers will now pay it forward?

For each book, toy or piece of clothing I have bought for my new grandson I have matched with donation to the "Toys for Tot's" or Angel Tree in our local stores for the children who have loving parents that just need a helping hand from time to time. For my birthday I asked each of my children to donate to the Katrina effort instead. 4 bookbags filled with essentials for the children in and around the area that were displaced by Katrina were donated by my children.
