Oh, really. I had no clue. Sorta like some people saying that MARTA is an acronym for "Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta" which is very un-PC?

I've learned a lot on this board.

That is a little diffent because MARTA is an actual acronym, which has nothing to do with race, whereas Monkeytown has nothing to do with anything other than race. You say you are smart, so how about doing a bit of research before offending people and looking like a racist.

Although it stunned me to see at least two black couples walking on the bike path on 30-A last weekend. This place is a bit (or maybe more than a bit) lily-white and "gentrified," as someone on this board stated, so definitely HonkeyTown works. I rarely even see Asians here.

So I guess you should wave your Rebel Flag and continue to welcome newcomers.

I love it.
I have been very MIA lately.
I pop around for the doozies though.

What does Miami have to do with this thread? Oh wait a minute, you mean Missing In Action. Sorry, PhdPhay had me stuck on another thought.:D

What are you talking about? I was bemoaning the fact that SoWal isn't racially diverse, and you call me a Rebel flag waver? I thought I said that the secondary MARTA acronym is politically incorrect and thought I conveyed that I thought this was not a good thing, and you dissed me? You totally misunderstood me by 180 degrees.

It's Friday. You must just be tired and cranky.

Tangent: There is someone in my neighborhood who has a rebel flag out front and a pineapple (universal symbol for "welcome") on the front gate. Somehow, I don't think everyone is welcome ...

When you begin calling this a "honkey town," as you said you were fine with doing so (see post # 93), you automatically block non-honky tonk kind of people from desiring to visit. Hence the Rebel Flag remark made by me. If you really gave a crap, you might think about calling this area a place treasured by all people who visit. - Just a thought.

Somewhere there is a bumper sticker which reads, "friends come in all colors."
