I'm sure there will be a lot of celebrating, partying, etc. this weekend but we need to hold off on the fireworks until we get a hurricane or something close to that in RAIN.

I'm convinced it's never going to rain here again and a small spark of any kind could cause a LOT of damage to many parts in the panhandle area and if this house burns, I don't have another one to go to. I know this may sound selfish on my part but anyhoo................

Have FUNN but NO Fireworks!!! :whack:

Party Pooper!!

Are fireworks included in the burn ban? I think they need to tell folks no fireworks this weekend - save them for the 4th - we should get rain by then!

Unfortunately, I have a feeling that all these tourists who possess the oft-discussed sense of entitlement will neither realize, nor care, that the area is critically dry. There will be bottle rockets popping everywhere and I fully expect a fire or two to start as a result of these yahoos' behavior.

Can you imagine how bad it will be if there is not substantial rain by July 4?

scooterbug, I don't know if they are included in the burn ban but the beach patrol will come and find you - as they did to those on the beach last night!!! I wouldn't chance it!

A long weekend of tourists, bbqs, fireworks, and no rain predicted ............. my hose is already out and I'm thinking of buying another fire extinguisher!

A ban on fireworks never stopped people before. Most fireworks in this area are illegal to begin with, so banning illegal products doesn't make much sense. Only the idiots are using them anyway, and they don't have much respect for the laws, from what I've seen.

Praying for rain for all of us. We are in a severe drought situation in Alabama as well......Please let it rain!!!
