And that it's a super small world...

So I went today to finally buy a bed frame for my bed. I've been on a box spring and mattress for about 7 months. So I go to Sleepys, buy it and they tell me it's gonna be $60 to deliver the frame. Fine. So I say I'll carry it or take a cab. The jerk face carried it out the door for me and propped it on the side of the building and left me to fend for myself. I hail a cab and the cab driver drives off when he sees me go for the frame. So I think it's what 12 blocks, I can walk. Well after 2 blocks, I can't walk and carry this thing. I popped a woman in the back of the head. It was too big and heavy. So I see another cab and I'm at 14th street, in the middle of the street trying to get this dude to take me. He won't. And I'm on the verge of tears.

Well I make it out of the middle of the road and 2 girls offered to help me carry it 10 more blocks. So nice. I mean come on, nobody does that in the city. I've helped people from time to time, but not like this.

Small world? Turns out this girl's best friend used to work with me. She's the PR director at Saks now. I mean this girl used to hear stories about me from our old job.

I plan on sending her something on Monday...but just when you think everyone is a total jerk...and people have just gone to crap, something like this happens. Trust me. I'll help the person that was struggling like me next time- and not think twice about it.

Great story, Kimmi! :clap_1:

Hate to dampen your enthusiam but be careful. Sometimes if you stop to help someone change a tire, you get mugged. :(

Getting mugged may be worth helping all of the other people in genuine need along the way. It would be a lonely world if everyone lived in fear of what might happen. I say live a bit and meet and help as many people as you can along the way. ;-) Actually, I do more than say it, I live it and it is way more funn.

Great adventure story, kimmifunn. I could picture the entire thing.

Great story Kimmi.

And SJ keep talking the talk, walking the walk; your attitude can't help but rub off on people. :D

Another one...this morning I was going into Starbucks to grab some coffee. This guy and his son (in a stroller) were heading in as well. I was way ahead of them, but just stopped and held the door for him. He freaked out...wouldn't stop thanking me. He ended up in line in front of me and kept telling me to order before him. I told him it was really no big deal. And it wasn't. At all. He wanted to buy my coffee.

I guess we're jaded up here.

But I'll help people if they need my help. Hopefully the cycle will continue. I'm vigilant though and am always aware of my surroundings. But these 2 girls were just over the moon sweet. And I hope the director of advertising for Calvin Klein doesn't need to mug me...if so then I'm going to medical school...i'm in the wrong profession.
