Rick Scott requiring adherance to ethics policy for transition team

So I take it all th democrats on the board have already assumed he'll fail miserably as a governor.

Hmm, that sounds so familiar.. where have I seen this before? :D

Unless the state of Florida is going to start committing Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare fraud I'm not really understanding where his experience is going to take us.

No, but since his record and ads make my skin crawl I am not overly optimistic.

Would love for him to succeed, just don't think it's the smart bet.

his record for lack of integrity speaks pretty loudly...he will have to overcome a lot before I feel comfortable having him in charge.

I would feel the same no matter what party affiliation I, or he, had. I feel pretty strongly about the republicans who blasted him as not being the person they wanted to see Governor of Florida, right up until they caved to partisanship.
This is not a guy who should be governor, it is as simple as that ." Giuliani said about Scott, the former head of the Columbia/ HCA hospital chain that in the 90's was immersed in the largest Medicare fraud case in history. Scott's former company ended up paying 1.7 billion dollars in fines and penalties.

"If we nominate somebody who has had serious fraud problems in the health care system that is going to be a big mistake," Giuliani said to reporters outside a Boca Raton Republican event.

"Of course I don't want to see him fail--that would be stupid on my part: he would not be the one to be hurt by his failure. He would just pick up and move to some other state the same way he moved to Florida--it is Florida and all our people who will suffer from his failure.

So, I hoping there are enough principled legislators left in the Florida legislature to keep him from doing too much harm to the state.

Sadly, the bar is pretty low - if he can manage to keep his nose clean and not make any decisions/laws (education, health care, and offshore oil drilling come to mind) that destroy the state I'll consider it a success.

I'd give Jeb! a solid C. Success- good leadership during hurricanes, surprisingly decent environmental record with Florida Forever, managed to get some sort of K-12 school standards in place, was sensible about a couple budget surplus years and didn't allow that temporary surplus to end funding recurring expenses that would still be there after the surplus ended.

Not so great- less than enthused about improving the FCAT and related school assessment tools, Terri Schiavo, utter failure to improve the DCF, kept trying to privatize everything in Tallahassee even when there were clear signs it was going to be more expensive and less effective than public management of the same thing in several instances, and a lot of the privatization money went to people a little too close to him.

Also a crappy parent, IMO.

IMHO, your long history of simple platitudes and lack of deep involvement in the discussions here render your opinion irrelevant.

Sorry, Shopper, but Bob comes thru with pithy, meaningful, snippets of truth, which far outweigh your Republican lockstep rationalizing. The sad part is, everyone knows Scott is a sleazebag, but some of you think you're going to profit from it.

Bob embodies the lack of rational discourse and middle of the road consensus this country sourly needs. He is CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC, wrapped up all in one. You're acting as an enabler by defending him.
