Girls, girls, girls...get thee off this thread until after the New Year!!!! Let's enjoy and embrace our last days of freedom and sinful living.

Amen.

I agree 100%. Do you know how many years that the stress of not having to deal with this right now has added to my life?

And I'm also embarrassed because these concerns are trivial relative to what IBD is experiencing.:(

BR, You are even more right.

I'm going against my buddy jdarg's wishes, just this once, and visiting sowell this NYE.

I'm ready to start thinking about some healthy goals.. Let's think of these resolutions as things we would like to achieve this year to become more healthy and take better care of ourselves. If you think of it as too stressful to contemplate, don't look at this thread! But, if you are ready to be good to yourself, then join in with us...

I would like to take care of me, and live healthier and happier. I'm thinking of ways to achieve this... quitting smoking is number one priority and will go a long way in achieving my health goals (I know once I quit for good, I'll be happier and healthier. also, it would make many loved ones happy for me as well)... I think I need to just think about this one biggie for now. today is a good day for contemplation. (of course I'm not throwing a NYE party like some...)...

"No thanks, I don't smoke".

'Twas the Month After Christmas

'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the house,
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste,
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared,
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared.
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese,
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt,
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt.
I said to myself, as I only can,
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"
So -- away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished,
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie -- not even a lick,
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore, But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot,
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!
