Update on Daddy

I want to tell each of you thank you for the warm wishes, advice and prayers for Daddy. He was determined to fight the cancer full on and be at his grandaughters wedding. However the growth of the cancer was outdistancing the chemo. He was horribly ill and the tumor has grown out of control. They have stopped all treatments and hospice tells us he could be gone in a day or 2. They don't think it will be longer than a week or so.

We are blessed that he's home and we've got this time with him. I was able to climb up in bed with him, laugh, cry and talk. He's constantly patting my arm and rubbing my hair. (Still worrying about us.) His sense of humor is still there. He's so strong emotionally. Daddy's very gracious in the face of this and I am so proud of him. I wish you all could have known him, he's so amazing.

I won't be here, but I know you will remember us. Jen-ay I have those numbers and will call if I need anything. If you don't hear from me you'll know we are ok. I'll look forward to having a drink with you and sharing our Daddy stories.

Cheering, I've been wondering but did not want to press because I know we are your outlet. Thank you for the update and I am sending up prayers for you through these tears. Daddys are very special, mine is 79 and I just love him so so much. Remember nothing can ever take away your memories. When you think you just can't take any more, go to your bible and read Phillipians 4:13.

So very sad for you and your family, but it also sounds like you have wonderful memories that will live forever. I am glad you have these days to make new memories to sustain you. This board is a beautiful thing and hopefully has brought you some peace. We love you dear girl!

I was just thinking of him yesterday, Lynne, and wondering about him. Thank you for updating. At times like this, I always pray for peace in the midst of a hard time, so that's what I'll be praying for you.
