Done and good luck!

I've heard about your type of construction and am a huge fan, of it!:clap::clap:
Hi fellow SoWal gang members

We are pleased to announce that out of all the entries in the Cali Bamboo & Surfrider Green Home Challenge contest - our little Santa Rosa Beach, FL home made it into the top 10! This is a very exciting opportunity for us to represent our area - and to spread the word about clean energy alternatives.

Of course, I'm not trying to sway your vote or anything  hee hee! (you'll see how absolutely fine the other 9 homes are - it isn't an easy choice)

We are #8 - John and Shirley L.

Thanks for reading this and who knows, maybe I'll be writing back saying Gidget goes to Malibu! :D

I cast my vote for our sowaller ~ :D

And, I was quite impressed with almost all of them. The Florida Beach House - I thought he did a great job with that renovation, #2. I loved the Palm Springs, CA home #5, San Diego home # 10, and the Texas Architect #9!!!! Runner up for me is the MO renovation and the Amish Construction Workers - horse and buggy!!:wub: Gidget's shows the best construction or at least it is explained the best. Good Luck!

Thanks very much - wow wow I appreciate the votes and just for stopping by and supporting our little Walton Net Zero home!

You are so right Lynnie- there are some fab homes with such great inspiring stories.

Just a little note: just got our latest Chelco statement and we once again produced more energy than we used last month - which was a real test in this heat. I credit the ICF with a lot of that and the Mr Slim units! Also, window placement and tankless water heater (which we hardly have to use - the water comes out pretty warm these days doesn't it!)

One more thing that is very interesting. We had them come out to do our Energy Star audit and the house was so well insulated that we were OFF THE CHARTS! It got bumped from the system - the numbers were so low! Anyway, they had to order a special part to use to do the HERS test - and they are coming back next week. Would have been cool to have had the rating before the contest but that's ok. HERS stands for Home Energy Rating Score.

Thanks again for the support!

Shirley aka Gidget

Just voted for y'all. Love your thread, and hope to meet you sometime.

just voted for Gidget and Mr. Gidget! and posted to FB, asking for votes!

I love your house. Did you build it yourselves or is their a builder in the area who does this (you probably posted this somewhere and I missed it)

Good luck! hope you win and thanks for sharing all the cool things about your house.
