While President Dickweed is whining and lying about drugs being carried across the border the real routes of drug entry are being guarded by military and civil service personnel who will most likely will have pay suspended. I receive Coast Guard retirement pay, not the VA, so not sure how it affects me.

Due to differences over funding for a proposed wall at the southern border, Congress and the White House have not reached a deal for a continuing resolution to keep the federal government fully open and running. On Saturday, 380,000 federal employees will be furloughed, and 420,000 more will continue to work without pay, according to an analysis released by Senate Democrats. 42,000 Coast Guard servicemenbers and employees, 54,000 agents and officials from Customs and Border Protection, 4,400 DEA agents and 3,600 Weather Service forecasters are among those who will be serving without pay. The Department of Defense, which houses all branches of the military except for the Coast Guard, is funded and will not be immediately affected by the shutdown.

This is hilarious. IF I was a moderator in this forum I would be tempted to remove this entire stain of a thread.. Yet it's where we are now in America. The subject matter should be offensive to all of humanity. If you are offended by a mere word in a meme yet ok with white nationalism, Putin's rule, science and climate denial, trashing of the media and journalists putting them in harms way, and lies, gaslighting and overall debasement of the office of the presidency, and all the rest of this nightmare... then by all means please report to the moderator ASAP.

This is the lounge. Sometimes posts are in poor taste. This certainly isn't my cup of tea either. (no offense guys). The subject matter is serious although I see the need to laugh it off whenever possible.

As much as this thread might be off-putting, it's kind of a rectal barometer of local and national opinion on important issues. I'm not trying to change anyone's point of view or win debates or pissing contests. I am trying to understand the psyche of people who's views I find repellent and get some idea of how pervasive they are in our community and our country. This way I can maintain the appropriate level of worry and concern. I don't want to overstate or understate the gravity of our national leadership crisis.
