Do you think the folks in South Walton want to give up what they have recieved through grant monies?

I wasn't talking about the people..you said your husband thought it was a misuse...I would like elected officials who will stand up for their principles, whatever they are...if it was a misuse, then it is a misuse...if one believes that, then, say it and stand by it; don't just go along to get along.

The principle was the issue here--not the specific case of expenditures.

Hi everyone, new poster. Long time vacationer and friend to Sowal! I happened to be in anchorage when Palin was announced as the VP. The general consensous of the common man on the street was that Palin turned the firing over to the personnel board to investigate, but once it became clear she was in the running for VP, the wolves came out to get her. She does have some enemies in the state because she took a lot of money out of politicians pockets from oil companies which had become just a part of doing business in AK.

Honestly, shes a little busy with the campaign only being 40+ days away and the personnel board has never completed their report.

Politics 101
Elected officials serve at the pleasure of the voting public. If the voting public want something in their community & there is no money in the budget but there is a grant available the official should make a decision not based on their own feelings, but on what those who are in fact their bosses, the voting public want. Now if this was an official in Washington or Tallahassee who could actual do something to stop some of the spending of our tax dollars needlessly by cutting "pork" then that shoud be done. But if the money is going to be spent, why send it to Tampa or Miami?

A person who is elected to office should be obligated to put the voting public first.
