What will YOU give up for Lent?

New posts
FBB .

Well, we got through the first Friday night of Lent. It was difficult having dinner with two filets cooked to perfection by hubby and no red wine.

Going to sleep at 9:35 PM helped.

Am I the only person who caught whats wrong with this statement.

BR, if you were talking about fish then never mind.

Oh right! I presumed fish filets, maybe even saw 'fish' in there somewhere. BR, are you Catholic? I gave up Mexican food one year! Lost 10 lbs.!

someone please tell DD that french fries are not white. hamburgers either. the bun was brownish. and the fried shrimp was toasty golden. chan's pizza crust is not white at all!

either that, or I've completely blown it this weekend and Lent has barely started.

Methodist. Our chaplain is a Methodist minister who will be officiating daughter's wedding in June. At the Lenten service on Wednesday, we signed cards with what we were going to do during Lent to repent and change our ways. He burned the cards and drew ashen crosses on our foreheads.

Sorta puts pressure on me to keep my Lenten promise.:yikes:

Heck, Mexican food can really put on the L.B.S. I've started ordering two tacos with no sour cream, no rice, no beans, to see if that helps.

Drink Mexican water and lose another 20lbs.

UPDATE (for those who give a rat's a$$):
Only five weeks (minus one day) left in Lent. I am not at a straightjacket yet. We have not cheated. We couldn't even eat at Chan's because it's sort of an oxymoron to go to a wine bar and drink Diet Coke.

We've decided that if we give up alcohol during the next Lenten season, we'll have a SoWal exception ;-), especially since my spring break next year is a few weeks before Easter (4/24/2011).:yikes:
