I did that already. Nothing like those are ringing a bell. I am leaning toward Miles Davis, and he does not sing, but I think his music says more than words. Talk about never knowing what may be around the corner. Miles' music gets in my blood and makes me want to think outside the box.

OK, since it appears that Mermaid has left the building, I'm going to ask a Mermaid-ish question:
What are the theme songs of your life? (Anybody remember Ally McBeal and her theme songs?)
First, what's the theme song that represents your childhood?
What's the theme song of your college or early adult years?
What's your current theme song?

college/early years of marriage = Carol King (Tapestry Album) "Where You Lead Me", etc.

We saw each other on weekends since I was finishing grad work at U of I and hub started his first job an hour and half away.

What the heck is your avitar, SJ? Kinda creepy.
That, my friend, is a pound hound up close and personal. Sueshore was complaining about the toads (again), and this guy is a cutie.

I think you are auditioning for a CREEP SHOW! Us dog lovers would rather see the pound hounds EYES not the interior. But thanks for removing the unsightly TOAD of WARTS!

Has anyone seen the adorable email titled "Hurricane Dogs"? I received it the other day and because I am such a computer loser, I do not know how to share it with you. I could send it to an email address and that person could get it on here, right?

Musical notes...how about "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay?"

The current issue of Vanity Fair magazine has an article about road music compiled by Cheryl Crowe, some wonderful old albums that struck a note with me.

Current favs at our house are Branford Marsalis' "The Steep Anthology," KD Lang's "Psalms in the 49th Parallel," (perhaps her best ever), and for the upcoming season, Diana Krall's "Christmas Songs."

Sorry...looks like a different thread. I'm outta here!

i thought this thread was about theme songs, not favorite songs. my favorite songs are many and varied, but theme songs that define my life? it'd probably be something ridiculous. like "hey hey we're the monkees"
----------------------

Here we come, walkin' down the street.
We get the funniest looks from everyone we meet.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
People say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing to put anybody down.

We go wherever we want to, do what we like to do
We don't have time to get restless,
There's always something new.

We're just tryin' to be friendly,
Come and watch us sing and play,
We're the young generation ()
And we've got something to say.

Any time, Or anywhere,
Just look over your shoulder
Guess who'll be standing there
