i thought this thread was about theme songs, not favorite songs. my favorite songs are many and varied, but theme songs that define my life? it'd probably be something ridiculous. like "hey hey we're the monkees"

Guilty KB, I went a little overboard!

thats ok, yall. now we know u got good taste in music... :clap_1:

Can't think of a good childhood song, but post-marriage, it's "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain. We married at 18 and everyone thought we were stupid. We knew what we were doing. We'll celebrate 10 years in January. I'm not big on country, but this one brings fond memories.

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss goodnight

Ain't nothin' better
We beat the odds together
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin'

Oh my gosh...you are 28. What a baby! Congratulations on 10 years. :clap_1: Good wishes for many more to come!

Childhood songs ...

I mostly just remember silly songs my mom sang to me that were passed down from generation to generation. I loved "Mares Eat Oats and Does Eat Oats." And there was little fishing song "Fishy, fishy in the brook. Daddy caught him on a hook, Momma fried him in a pam and ____ ate him like a man."

And she'd sing songs like "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine...."

 Come to think of it, I don't even remember listing to music when I was little. Can't remember it anyway. That's sad!

Not sad if your mommy sang to you! That's a blessing!

Oh Rita- my mom sang the same songs! Plus "Abba Dabba Honeymoon" and "Chicory Chick Cha-la Cha-la" and "White Coral Bells".

yup me too....the older I get, the more I understand my parents talking about the "good old days"...and tunes were always a part of the good times for me.

I remember standing on my dad's feet and he'd slow dance with me to Lawrence Welk. To bad my husband wouldn't let me do that at ballroom dance lessons. :floor: We just argued about who was leading!
