I watched the entire video. Two things stood out: 1. the code writer was emphatic about the fact that code could not be written to do that task, that could not be detected. He was very emphatic about that. So that kind of put the whole documentary into question. It seemed like an exercise to give that guy a lot of publicity. 2. People have been trying to rig elections for a long, long time. If "they" are successful at rigging, without being detected, then what is the point of getting concerned and watching more info on the internet about it. It would mean the end of democracy, wouldn't it? It's sort of the ultimate conspiracy theory. But, then of course if one side flips the election one way, and then the other side flips the election back a few seconds later... then what?
Header: The topic is: Why I Am Not Voting...". And one reason for me is that one cannot trust that the vote they cast on an electronic voting machine is the vote that will be counted.
Lake View, did you watch the clip, or the entire documentary, "Hacking Democracy"? If you would like more current info on what's going on go to
www.blackboxvoting.org. Lots of good videos there especially the "Fraction Magic" series, which shows how your one vote for a candidate can be converted into multiple votes for the opposing candidate.
1. As for the code writer, I appreciate your take on the code writer, but he was just hired for the documentary; someone who could demonstrate how easy it was to manipulate the voting machines at the machine level. It was an exercise (actually in Leon County).
2. You are exactly right. People have been trying to rig elections, from old fashioned stuffing the box with paper ballots, to having corrupted precinct, and above, officials reporting/certifying manufactured numbers. Even LBJ stole his first Senate election:
How Johnson Won Election He'd Lost
Which brings this to your point of "sides". Why do we only get two choices? The "choices" are essentially the same choice. With either candidate, not just this election, you will be guaranteed:
- Increased spending, which means more debt.
- War, war, and more war. Why is the US in Syria? Why have we not left Afghanistan? Iraq? Read "The Project for the New American Century" and you will see why we have not left, and are not leaving until we (try to) conquer Syria and Iraq. Note the authors and people who are part of PNAC. There are no sides. It is an illusion.
