What does Palin have to hide?

Politics 101
Elected officials serve at the pleasure of the voting public. If the voting public want something in their community & there is no money in the budget but there is a grant available the official should make a decision not based on their own feelings, but on what those who are in fact their bosses, the voting public want. Now if this was an official in Washington or Tallahassee who could actual do something to stop some of the spending of our tax dollars needlessly by cutting "pork" then that shoud be done. But if the money is going to be spent, why send it to Tampa or Miami?

A person who is elected to office should be obligated to put the voting public first.

Sorry, no offense personally, but that sounds like Pandering 101. We should be expecting more from our elected officials in communication with those elected officials in Washington and Tally. My nephew would love to have candy for lunch daily, but assuming he could, the budget allows for those yucky candy corns daily. But if he bides his time, a grant may become available for lunch and a Snickers Bar 3X a week. Much more nutritional.

If officials foresee and prioritize their real needs, they will be more likely to get more money if they aren't dipping in the coffers all the time. Why do they not have the ability to have these conversations with higher ranking officials and their electorate?

Yea, less than 1 out of 10 times. These guys are SO different:floor:

Interestingly enough though, Obama, the agent of change has bucked his party's line 3 out of 100 times.

I don't consider trying to do what the voters that llive in a district want pandering. That is what officilas are elected to do.

Communication with our officials in Washington & Tallahassee does not always work. If it did 331 would have been 4 laned many years ago! Also, it is not just the elected officials that need to communicate with Tallahassee & Wahington, we should ALL be doing that.

No, that is not officials are elected to do! Officials are elected to lead; to make solid judgments based, not only on communication with their constituents, but also on knowledge, leadership skills, vision, integrity, and principled thinking. :bang:

really? I won't go back as far as the decider's inauguration day, I'll be generous and give you till 9/11. His behavior has been criminal; Wmd(or lack thereof), signing statements, Iraq, Afghanistan, torture, denial of habeas corpus, Katrina, US Attorneys, etc, etc. He's made a mockery of the office and the constitution. He's screwed the pooch, and it will take at least a decade for us to get things back together. It appears McCain would follow right behind him

Who's this "us" you refer to above? Is it the dreaded reform triumvirate of John R, Al Frankin and Bill Maher?

I would buy tickets to see this lineup.;-)

I'm going to just take a guess:

"us" = you, me, them = U.S. = United States = "us"

What sharp skillz!

fulltime, 'us' would be all of us, the United States of America, which the decider has pretty much ruined, and is still trying to even today. 'us' even includes you, unless you are planning to leave us.

What, and leave all the fun people, like US?

No, I'm staying. The beers are warm and the showers are cold in France - not good. I thought this bumbling, Democratic oaf would make a good match as CIA Director for "us". Getting nabbed by the FBI in a week's time is really incompetent. He won't be able to hide anything from "us".

Obviously you do not have much confidence in the voters in Walton County.
