you forgot a key part to that sentence, "...at those low wages."
Sometimes, it's not low wages as much as it is hard work. But, you are right, most of the time it is low wages.

Where do you people live?????? HARD WORK? Did you ever see illegals work hard and fast? Low wages? I think not! Not here in NY anyway.
I had a cleanning girl clean my house 2 times a month she charged me $10 a hour and it took her 10 hours to clean the whole house... i just couldnt take her here for 10 hours.. I told her I'm going to give you $80 and I want you to clean my whole house in 5 hours or less and I will still give you $80 does that sound ok to you? she said ok.. The next time she came she got the house all done in 3 hours. She told me, "She was here on a visa"... Making money so she can pay off her house in Columbia. She showed me pictures of her house... it looked like something out of better homes and gardens. she took to the streets to march for her rights... I thought about it and as much as I like her as a person, I disagree, with what I doing by hiring an illegal and felt that in somehow I was the "cause" for illegals to band agaist Americans By supporting an illegal with a job. I stand firm on this! As nice as a person can be, belief in what you believe in holds no blinds and will not die in YOUR heart. And Yes I did explain this to her as well.

My favorite comment on the illegals had to do with finding them. One of our elected officials made the comment that we couldn't locate the illegal immigrants in society to deport them. I think when they are at their rally or protest demonstration seems like a good time to find them. Look on CNN, when they are all in one place, scope them up there. They present the proper papers authorizing them to be where there are or they are bused home.

What bothers me is if you feel like you are being mistreated in this country you don't have to stay, you are not a prisoner. The road home may be your best choice and you have the freedom to take it. You have the right to complain, but please do it in your own backyard as you also have the right to return there.

American citizens aren't granted the full rights of citizenship in Mexico that the illegals are demanding here. Our government can't seem to manage something that the Mexican government does with ease.

i agree with you - i am not sure how someone can argue for "rights" if they are not even here legally....start paying taxes then we will talk about rights.

The one working on buildings and road construction here are definitely working hard.

And if there is interest in deporting them, could y'all please hold off on doing so until after they've finished 'storm-proofing' US 98 between Destin and FWB? Most of the crew working on that looks Hispanic, and the rumor mill here says that only about 10-20% of the Hispanics working construction in the area right now are documented.

BULLSH*T!

We have greedy people... here in the U.S.. that DEFINITELY will take advantage of anyone for thier own welfare! Like building a house and charging FULL PRICE but using illegals to build it. Never again! Will I stand for shadey Americans... what a shame

did you know.. in parts of Mexico.. a husband ( a MAN ) can divorce his wife (A Woman) for not giving him good sex? Yet a wife ( a women ) have no rights and cannot divorce her husband ( a man ) for not giving her good sex? women have very little rights in the Greatest Country of Mexico.

Did you know in Mexico 12 year old girls are looked at as 18 year olds are here in the U.S?

Hey Dabell. Come to Kentucky. The migrant workers work very hard here, and get paid low wages for doing so. I get more angry seeing American citizens on the dole because they won't get off their fat asses and get a job. If you can round up enough Americans to show up and do the work that the illegals are doing, then I would agree with you. But Americans set the bar for laziness- and set it high. Good luck getting the bubbas off the couch as replacements for the illegal workers.

I do have mixed feelings on this issue, and it is very complicated. but the simplistic way of lumping them together is nasty and appears ignorant. While I don't think their protest today did much more thatn infuriate the "masses", I think it would be more productive to explore ways to work on this problem rather than run these people down over and over and over. Not productive.

Illegals do pay some taxes - sales taxes.
