Wait, so that Liberty person was fake? And it appears she was using the same IP address as this Gilmore person? And they were posting the same positive comments to support some marginal columnist? Why would anyone feel the need to do such a thing? And did they honestly think anyone reading, or this BB's management, would be so naive to not see right through them? Is that what a sock puppet does?

Well, the Sun hasn't been delivered around here in a while and I don't subscribe to the other papers, but really who cares? If you don't like it, don't read it.

Ron Hart is an opinion piece. We all know what they say about opinions.

I look forward to weekly 30A Posse updates. Speaking of plagiarism, have you ever noticed that the Party Line looks alot like Facebooking?;-)

I was going to say the same but decided against it..

I wonder if someone might think they can build up their writing career by trying to tear a paper that will not carry them down the Dougie??. Folks love the Walton Sun.

I used to love the Walton Sun. I still do just out of loyalty. I am sad each weekend when I open the shell of a paper that once was so fat and full of community based stories, plus special sections published during certain events or times. of course there are no real estate ads to speak of so that takes about half the paper away.

I do not think Hart is a match for South Walton. He may be appreciated by many but it just seems he is out of place here, in a community where minds are very open to education and awareness of the currrent events and issues. He just has nothing good or positive to offer. I don't read him so he doesn't really bother me. I just feel he's not an asset to feel proud of in our little dinky shell of a paper. SSB is right - its an opinion piece. He only represents himself.

First, if you are going to call yourself news then you have to simply report it. Not pepper it with your own ideology. The previous editor didn't even attempt to hide this fact.

Second, you posted a comment, I chose to respond. As you stated you aren't posting for me, just as I'm not posting for you. Feel free to prick away or you can play victim as you seem to be leaning towards. The choice is yours. You can also search the forum for the ignore feature.
Why should I use the "ignore" feature? I'd miss all your wonderful, intelligent and insightful comment, not to mention your obvious vast experience in so, so many areas.

I've tried to read Hart on many ocassions and most times can't stomach his angle at life.
I guess that puts me somewhere else on the political spectrum. I don't know if that makes me a Righty or a Lefty... ;-)

Why does it always have to be a political spectrum issue? You (and I) can just not like his writing/opinions on certain topics.

P.S. Aside from the sock puppets does anyone like his column?

He takes on both sides, depending on the issue he is opining on. He states he is a Libertarian so that should give you some clue as to where he usually comes from.

He uses too many commas! He has a very amateurish way of writing which I find highly irritating. I think he must have snoozed through all his English classes. :bang:

I agree that his writing style is boring...I don't read him much, but when I've tried, I get frustrated by the writing and so miss whatever message he is trying to convey.

Certainly not very enlightening IMO.
