It's amazing to me how hard it can be to force the federal government to stop spending borrowed money. Everyone except a guy who knows a thing or two about balance sheets wanted to blow through 2.4 billion of the 1.6 trillion we'll borrow this year alone.
we do we have to show for our efforts in iraq/afghanistan?.. and lets do it all with borrowed money from China, so we don't have to pay for it.
I like the idea of expanding our ports personally, we should leverage the resources we have. Boondogles might create jobs today, but they rob us of funding later that would be spent on useful infrastructure, education, and social services.

? An updated ridership study released Wednesday shows that a high-speed rail line connecting Tampa to Orlando would have had a $10.2 million operating surplus in 2015, its first year of operation, and a $28.6 million surplus in its 10th year. A 2009 study showed the line would not have seen a surplus until 2021.
The study, conducted by the forecasting firms Wilbur Smith Associates and Steer Davies Gleave, shows the line would have had 3.3 million riders in its first year. The previous analysis predicted the line would have had 2.4 million riders in 2015.
I would be curious to see the details on how many seats per trip, and trips per day, ticket costs, etc. This is over 9000 riders a day. Are they expecting these to be commuters? visitors? Anyone have any ideas on how to get the study?
yes, everyone is wrong and only scott sees the truth here....next stop, defund public education and introduce a siege mentality on educatorsFlorida Governor Rick Scott - Florida Governor Rick Scott Rejects Federal High Speed Rail
