Walton County Votes to Keep Confederate Flag Flying

New posts
What about the non-Confederate slave holders? Were they somehow morally superior if they were from the North? How about our founders who owned slaves: Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Hancock, Franklin etc. It is good that you don't consider it a debate regarding the Confederate Monuments and Confederate flags because your hypocrisy would be exposed.

Almost zero of the Confederate soldiers were slave owners. Your attitude regarding those soldiers is at the least misguided but you indeed have the freedom to type out the most heinous sins of our male gender. We should both be ashamed of that so maybe that is our common ground. Where we differ is on the truth of the moral behaviors of those Confederate soldiers versus anyone else from that era including the Northern soldier. They gave their life for your and my freedom from an intrusive government determined to tax their goods and property until they could no longer afford it. Yes they had prejudice but no more than their northern soldier counterpart. Our civil war history is bent around the slavery issue but it does not tell the real story or the whole story. How would you justify the US soldier given the duty to "rid" the country of "savages". You need a diuretic because when you start pissing on graves you will be at it for a while...
Whataboutism.

Heritage is a bad thing now huh? Those camps are not part of a "proud" heritage but they are still "heritage". Those marching with Nazi flags are not part of my heritage and are not only from "confederate states". But it seems that they (southern states) are the only ones targeted for destruction. Cultural annihilation is ok when it happens to people of the southern US but ONLY them? Racism/discrimination is not limited to black vs. white. Has anyone gone through the lists of northerners who owned slaves and torn down any of the monuments in those states? Maybe this article can help.....
Here’s a compromise, leave the monuments and let the NAACP provide the verbiage for the plaques.

Of course there should be compromises. Why is "compromise" now considered a form of weakness? You know the answer. Dirty politics.

Using the term "a karen" is not so clean either.

Whataboutism is a form of deflection however if deflection serves the purpose to expose hypocrisy it is allowed in a debate. Oh, sorry you are not debating because you are are an authoritarian. Me forgets sometimes :)

I am not deflecting regarding the sins of slavery that existed in both the North and South. Yes that is our history. If you want to remove all monuments and flags of our sinful history go for it but I would advise never look into a mirror...

“Given that Plantation/Slave owners were exclusively Southern Democrats,” really? Evidence says you’re wrong.

Digs unearth plantations holding slaves in 'free' North

Most Northern states abolished slavery before the Civil War. But recent excavations show that during the late 1700s and early 1800s, many of what later came to be called manors and landed estates were full-fledged plantations that held slaves under conditions similar to those in the South.

Nope. The Southern Democracts, Jacksonian Democrats, were the Confederacy. With the KKK as their ANTIFA. Maybe you need to take some night classes about your past, party Rapists, Lotb. These were the true Karens silencing the voice of what would become the WHIGS. I'll give you some Google time to catch up....

If you truly believe this then why not stay in your lane and let the Southern Democracts, Jacksonian Democrats deal with their monuments as they see fit?

You literally started your post with "what about" :floor::floor:

Wow, that’s it. I expected more.

So what you’re telling me is to shut up and keep my opinion to myself. Spoken like a true “Karen” Democrat. Maybe you should have all capped it to really drive it home.

This is So you...

CNN's Van Jones argued Friday during an analysis on racial tensions that a "white, liberal Hillary Clinton supporter walking her dog in Central Park" can pose a more insidious threat to African Americans than openly racist groups such as the Ku Klux Klan.

Ha! That Van Jones quote was from back in May not last Friday and I completely agree with him. You obviously missed his point. Go back and read it again and see if you can do better.

That was a cut and paste from my original post in this thread, Punkin. Don’t be a typical Democrat, slow down and don’t get angry
