Seems some in government might agree with the notion "prima nocta" but I think the courts are pretty consistent with regards to rape. I have followed this from the cruise lines to the current situation with regards to the special legislative session. I have friends on both sides and some even losing their jobs. The Feds are making OSHA as the tip of the spear, so to speak, and even the possibility of financially holding those who receive federal funds for reimbursement for services, ie hospitals and EMS services, for enforcing a vaccine mandate. I remember in the 80s the Reagan Administration was going to with hold Federal Highway funds from Florida because they were not "Enforcing" the 55 speed limit on the interstates. It seems the Governor lost a court ruling when he was trying to interfere with the cruise lines mandating the vaccine for those who work and those paying customers. It still doesn't change my belief that Governor DeSantis is talking out both sides with regards to businesses.
Then I suppose the courts can settle the enforcement issue of the vaccine too. Seems you are no longer confused. I’m glad I could be of assistance in clarifying your thought process. De nada

and funny you use the word rape. Both of your examples involve unwanted pricks being “enforced”.

Would not say I am still not struggling with the issue but thanks for your perspective.

Politically speaking, I am confused by what Governor DeSantis is doing when it comes to private businesses. On the one hand he is telling businesses they can come and be free of overbearing regulations. On the other hand he is telling businesses they can't enforce something on their employees. In fairness I am just as confused by those who believe in reproductive choice but not in the choice of whether to get the vaccine or not. Listening to both sides of the issues, mandate or choice, has not clarified the issue for me. I am not going to get in a pissing match about these issues because I have been pretty silent on it for a reason but these narrowly defined issues bother me and find them difficult to reconcile.

The difference between reproductive choice and choice of being vaccinated is that one woman's choice to terminate her pregnancy will not spread like wildfire, forcing other women to terminate their pregnancies, when in fact they would choose to bring their child to term. COVID among the unvaccinated is analogous to putting abortion pills in the water supply.

Good point.

Reference Special Session

Could never imagine a governor working so hard to prevent employers from protecting their employees health.
I heard LuLu’s is requiring masks for a period because some employees went to football game and brought Covid back.

Imagine what he will do when he is President
